Psoriasis treatment may be assisted with natural Manuka plant extracts

Anecdotal evidence suggests that Manuka UMF honey cream may be an effective home remedy psoriasis treatment.

Some cases of psoriasis are so mild that people don't know they have it. Severe psoriasis may cover large areas of the body. 

Psoriasis is not contagious and cannot be passed from one person to another, but it is most likely to occur in members of the same family.

The cause of psoriasis is unknown. However, recent discoveries point to an abnormality in the functioning of white blood cells which trigger inflammation and the immune response in the skin.

Because of the inflammation, the skin grows too rapidly. Normally, the skin replaces itself in about 30 days, but in psoriasis, the process speeds up and replaces the skin in three to four days, and the signs of psoriasis develop.

We recommend that psoriasis sufferers consult with a qualified dermatologist, who will make prescribe appropriate medication for individual patients depending on the severity of their condition.

Manuka UMF® Honey cream may provide some assistance to mild psoriasis

We do not make any claim that our natural Manuka tea tree oil and honey based cream will cure psoriasis, but it may offer some relief from the symptoms.

Unlike studies that have shown conclusively that Manuka UMF honey and tea tree oil are highly effective antimicrobial agents in controlling a wide range of gram positive bacteria and fungi, we are not aware of any scientific studies that have shown Manuka honey or essential oil to be effective in controlling psoriasis.

However, we have received a number of reports from individual consumers that it has provided varying degrees of assistance in cases of psoriasis.

We are unsure if these reported cases are in fact psoriasis, we consider it more likely that they may in fact be eczema or seborrheic dermatitis, which, given their fungal and/or bacterial association are more likely to be assisted by the use of Manuka based products.
